ESG as an Opportunity: Why e-Finance Is Taking the Path of Sustainability
e-Finance focuses its strategy on ESG – combining sustainability, social responsibility and strong governance. This article provides an overview of the company’s specific actions in ecology, employee care and ethical leadership.
Europe and the entire world are steadily moving towards more responsible business practices. Through legislation such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the European Union is pushing companies to focus not only on profit but also on sustainability, social responsibility and sound governance. These factors are summarised by the abbreviation ESG – Environmental, Social and Governance, representing the environmental, social and managerial aspects of business.
At e-Finance Group, we see ESG as an opportunity for long-term growth, not as a necessary evil. Not only recently, but for many years, we have been taking concrete steps to act responsibly towards the environment, our employees, communities and, above all, our investors. Our approach is firmly integrated into our corporate strategy – covering the areas of development, energy (in which we are now investing significantly) and investment management – and it helps us build a modern, sustainable and trustworthy company.
Environmental responsibility: e-mobility, solar panels and cogeneration
One of the most significant steps in environmental protection was the modernisation of our vehicle fleet. In 2024, we replaced all combustion engine vehicles with Tesla Model Y electric cars, allowing us to significantly reduce our carbon footprint while improving operational efficiency.
Another step is the use of renewable energy sources – we are installing solar panels on our buildings to cover part of our electricity consumption from renewable sources. We are also preparing to build cogeneration units (combined heat and power production), which enable more efficient use of energy and reduce losses associated with its transmission. We plan to introduce these modern technologies in our upcoming projects – for example, at Račice Castle in Račice-Pístovice in the Vyškov region and other properties in our portfolio.
Our long-term goal is to be as energy self-sufficient, environmentally friendly and economically efficient in energy consumption as possible. For us, investments in sustainable energy are not just an expense but also a way to reduce operating costs and increase independence from external energy sources.
Social responsibility: employees, community and transparent communication
We believe that a successful company is built on people. That is why we systematically improve working conditions and invest in employee education and development. We foster a corporate culture where everyone can grow and contribute ideas to the company’s growth.
We are also aware of our role in the communities where we operate. We actively support local cultural and sporting events and help talented athletes not only through the e-Finance Sport Team but also by working with various organisations. We also support local entrepreneurs – for example, by revitalising and providing quality premises for their businesses or prioritising local suppliers. In doing so, we strive to improve the environment and be a visible, positive presence in the regions where we invest. Transparent communication is also important to us – we openly share our plans and results with our employees, investors and the wider public, and we listen to feedback.
Governance: responsible management, ethics and transparency
The trust of investors and the public can only be earned if a company is transparent, ethical and well managed. At e-Finance, we are constantly improving our internal processes and strengthening control mechanisms, with a focus on a long-term strategy instead of short-term gains.
Every decision is based on data, expert judgment and strict adherence to legal and moral standards. We also regularly review and update our management procedures to keep pace with best practices and market requirements. This approach allows us to respond flexibly to challenges and minimise risks, which is a key prerequisite for long-term stability and value growth for investors.
For us, ESG is not just an empty acronym but a business philosophy that we incorporate into all areas of our activities. We believe that companies that will be successful in the long run are those that recognise their responsibility to the world around them and can combine business objectives with long-term sustainability.
