EFI Brewery, Brno

EFI Brewery, which is part of the multifunctional building of the Brno EFI SPA Hotel**** Superior in Brno at 28th October Square, was built for brewing craft beers using traditional production methods on the most modern available technology with a planned output of 200,000 liters of beer per year.

The core of the brewery is a compact thousand-liter three-vessel automatic brewhouse DESTILA Smart. The two-phase fermentation of the wort takes place either in an open fermentation vat or in cylindroconical tanks. The beers mature for 4-6 weeks in horizontal lager tanks. The finished beer is bottled on an automatic line into KEG barrels or manually into bottles.

Considering the internal complexity of the EFI SPA Hotel**** Superior building, to maintain high stability of beer quality and, last but not least, to facilitate operation, technology with high automation common in much larger industrial breweries was chosen. The processing of malt and its transport to the brewhouse, brewing process control, washing and filling of barrels, and sanitation are fully automated. For the production of beer in the highest possible quality, the investor decided on a fully automatic central CIP station with automatic measurement and dosing of sanitizing agents, guaranteeing high microbial purity of the beer, which, alongside the skill of the brewers, is the foundation of honest brewing craft. All technological processes, including brewing water preparation, cooling, and energy, are controlled by a computer system with remote management, giving the operators a constant overview of what is happening in the brewery. The technology was designed and delivered 'turnkey' by the Brno company DESTILA.

Since EFI Brewery successfully sells and could not keep up with demand, in 2022 it expanded with two additional lager tanks. Moreover, the investor began producing carbonated lemonades and cola drinks under the EFI BEAER brand, which enhances the prestige not only of the Brewery but also of the EFI Gastro Pub, of which it is a part.

The magnificent brewhouse with hand-hammered copper covers combined with a polished copper jacket fits sensitively into the cozy and airy interior of the brewery restaurant, calming with its monumentality, quiet beauty, and irresistibly enticing visitors to taste the excellent unfiltered EFI Lager, the honest uncompromising EFI Ten, and a range of extraordinary specials.
